Mitchell was moved to another seat, which left the body next to his wife, Jennifer Colin, for the arduous last four hours of their journey. Jennifer described her terrifying ordeal, tearfully stating that she is not a nervous flyer and that this distressing experience was shocking. In an attempt to escape the traumatic environment, she moved to a different row, leaving her husband beside the grim reality.Upon landing, the couple reported they were instructed to remain seated as emergency services handled the unfortunate situation, and they felt that no support was offered to them by the airline staff. Qatar Airways later addressed the incident, assuring that they had reached out to the distressed passengers.
