At least 30 people were killed when a Russian glide bomb struck two civilian buses in the Ukrainian town of Kramatorsk.
The strike—part of a wider surge in Russian attacks on the eastern front—also hit the village of Bilenke, killing three more and wounding 18.
Ukrainian leaders have condemned the attack as a war crime and called on international allies to step up defence aid. President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that the city is a “fortress” Putin wants to seize as part of his claim over Donbas.
Russia has not yet responded to the latest attack but has kept firing glide bombs at eastern towns, while Kyiv suffers air raids, energy cuts and disruptions across transport networks.
The UN reports that Ukraine has already seen more civilian deaths this year than all of 2025, highlighting the deadly toll of the conflict.
