In a shocking turn of events, unreleased music by Beyoncé was stolen from a rental car parked in Atlanta, just two days before her much-anticipated shows in the city as part of her Cowboy Carter tour. Authorities confirmed that several valuable items, including hard drives with unreleased songs, performance plans, and set lists, were taken from the vehicle belonging to her choreographer, Christopher Grant, and her dancer, Diandre Blue.
The theft occurred on July 8, shortly before Beyoncé's first Atlanta show. Reports state that after parking the rented Black Jeep Wagoneer to grab a bite at a nearby food hall, they returned to find the rear window smashed and two suitcases gone. Inside the suitcases were “five jump drives containing watermarked music,” in addition to other personal effects like a laptop, designer clothing, and Apple AirPods.
Law enforcement is on the case, having issued an arrest warrant in connection to the break-in, though the suspect's name remains under wraps. While investigations continue, police utilized tracking data from the stolen laptop and headphones and took fingerprints from the vehicle.
As of now, it's unclear if the stolen items have been recovered. Beyoncé is currently in the middle of her tour, electrifying fans since July 10, with her last Atlanta performance expected Monday night. In a delightful surprise twist, her husband Jay Z even made a guest appearance during one of her shows! Meanwhile, both Grant and Blue are no strangers to the spotlight, having worked with numerous other major artists prior to their collaboration with Beyoncé.
