When tragedy struck on a Disney cruise to the Bahamas, a father leaped into the ocean to save his daughter who had fallen from a fourth deck. Witnesses reported that the girl slipped while posing for a picture at the railing.

The dramatic scene unfolded as passengers witnessed the duo struggling in the water and cheered when a rescue boat successfully recovered them after about ten minutes. Laura Amador, one passenger, described how the ship became a blur in the distance as the captain turned it around and slowed down.

Disney confirmed that the crew acted quickly and efficiently to rescue the pair, praising their exceptional skills. Another passenger, Gar Frantz, recounted the horrifying moment when the father and daughter seemed to vanish into the vast ocean.

The incident occurred on the final day of the cruise, which was bringing passengers back to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Although passengers falling overboard from cruise ships is rare, successful rescues are even rarer, with a 2019 report indicating that only nine out of 25 overboard incidents resulted in saving lives.
