In brief

South Australia breaks new ground by granting 11 Michelin stars, with Magill Estate Restaurant in Adelaide becoming the only venue awarded two stars. The state paid Michelin inspectors to evaluate its restaurants, marking the first time a region in Australia has enlisted the guide. The move follows New Zealand’s inclusion and could boost Adelaide’s culinary tourism. Ten one-star restaurants, including Arkhé, Aptos, and Maxwell Restaurant, share the spotlight, while the guide’s heritage dates back to 1900.
