Visitors, both local and international, line up for hours to witness these stunning creations, which often depict scenes from Oaxacan culture, Indigenous mythology, and even the Nativity. This year's standout was a radish masterpiece by Carlos David Vásquez López and his family, showcasing Oaxacan cuisine. Contestants of all ages participated, turning the humble radish into stunning sculptures. “It’s a fun way to celebrate our culture,” said María de los Angeles Aragón García, a first-time competitor. “Instead of just eating, we create!” Join the festivities and celebrate the unique spirit of Oaxaca, where creativity and tradition shine bright, one radish at a time.
