Thirteen people were hurt when a car veered into a gathering of fans outside the Espanyol-Barcelona match on Thursday. This derby match, during which Barcelona clinched the La Liga title with a 2-0 win, faced a temporary halt as authorities informed the referee of the accident. Out of those injured, four were taken to hospitals, yet all are expected to recover. Police expressed no ongoing threat to fans inside the stadium and reported the driver has been arrested for reckless driving. Eyewitness videos circulating on social media show the car's erratic movements, which took place as Espanyol supporters congregated to greet their team's coach. A total of ten ambulances responded to the scene, with reports noting the most significant injury was a broken leg. Salvador Illa, the president of Catalonia, reassured viewers, stating, "It was an accident, some people were injured, but not seriously."
