Heatwave reaches record highs across western Europe
Since June 18, temperatures have topped the charts in flagship cities such as Paris, Nice and Milan. France is under a severe heat alert and neighboring countries are tracking the same trend.
Tragically, 40 people have lost their lives to heat‑related illnesses in France alone. Officials warn the toll could rise as the summer blazes on.
What’s being done?
Across western Europe, authorities activated cooling centres, expanded public water stations and issued nationwide heat‑health guidance to protect residents.
Stay safe
