A UK‑Iranian dual national arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts linked to RAF Fairford has been released on bail.
He was detained in Westminster on Thursday and searches of two local properties have concluded. The alert came after police saw three suspicious vehicles near the Gloucestershire airbase last weekend, triggering a major incident and evacuation of dozens of neighbours.
Five other UK men in their twenties were also arrested but have now been released on police bail. All were London residents.
Investigation into the broader circumstances is ongoing.
