Russian missiles and drones struck Ukraine overnight, leaving eight dead – including two boys and a girl – according to local officials. The attack hit the village of Radushne a few kilometres from Kryvyi Rih. A home that housed a large family was blasted to smithereens.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strike involved more than 70 missiles and over 280 drones. He added that dozens of homes, businesses, and infrastructure were destroyed or badly damaged.

Zelensky had met U.S. President Donald Trump earlier in Washington to push for Patriot interceptor missiles, saying the system is vital for Ukraine’s defense.

The strike also spilled over into Poland. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said a crater in a Polish field probably resulted from a Russian Kh‑101 ballistic missile. Polish authorities are still investigating the exact type and launch point.

Other casualties were reported in Kyiv, where a mayor noted a death and fires in three non‑residential buildings. Polytav’s mayor confirmed a death following an attack on a postal terminal, and Lviv saw explosions and residential damage.

Nearly 84‑year‑old victims and other injured people were taken to hospitals, while rescue teams cleared rubble and saved trapped residents.

The Ukrainian war has seen repeated calls for better anti‑ballistic missile coverage. The Patriot system is among the few capable of intercepting the missiles used most heavily by Russia.
