A controversial internet streamer who goes by the name Clavicular has been arrested in south Florida on a battery charge. Braden Eric Peters, also known as Clavicular, was taken into custody on Thursday by Fort Lauderdale police after a battery investigation stemming from an incident last month in central Florida, investigators said. Peters is accused of instigating a fight between two women and then posting a video of it on social media, authorities said. The BBC has contacted Peters.
Clavicular is known for his role in an online movement called 'looksmaxxing', centred on maximising physical attractiveness. A 19-year-old woman reported that she had been battered by Violet Marie Lentz, 24, on 2 February during a physical altercation in a residence rented out by Peters, 20, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies arrived at the home but Peters and Lentz would not meet them outside to speak about the incident. A warrant was issued by the sheriff's office for Peters for charges of misdemeanour battery and criminal conspiracy to commit battery. A warrant was also issued for Lentz for misdemeanour battery, and authorities are still searching for her. Peters' bond was set at $1,000 (£754), booking records show. He was released from custody late on Friday.
In a separate incident, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announced an investigation into a video showing an alligator being shot at multiple times in the Florida Everglades, reportedly involving Peters. It remains unclear whether this is related to his current charges. Clavicular is an influencer and streamer known for promoting 'looksmaxxing' strategies that often involve extreme measures to enhance physical appearance, reflecting a controversial subculture that is gaining traction online.
