Marius Borg Høiby, 27, the son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, has found himself in serious legal trouble. He was arrested by the Norwegian police on suspicion of rape and is currently being held in a detention center in Oslo.
The police detailed that Høiby has been charged with engaging in sexual acts with individuals who were unable to resist, alongside additional accusations involving four other alleged victims. Høiby reportedly denies the allegations.
His arrest took place late on Monday, when police stopped a car in which Høiby was traveling with a victim linked to a separate incident. This previous incident from August 4 has led to further charges, including violence and criminal damage, directed toward the same individual.
According to authorities, the nature of the rape charge involves a sexual act without penetration, with the victim allegedly unable to resist. The investigation has also prompted a search of Høiby’s residence near Skaugum, where the Crown Prince and Princess live.
Høiby already has a history of legal issues, having faced charges in the past over accusations involving two ex-girlfriends, as well as threats made to another man. Amid these allegations, the Norwegian palace has chosen to remain silent.
