Hamas has recalled about 7,000 members of its security forces to reassert control over areas of Gaza recently vacated by Israeli troops, according to local sources.

The situation evolved quickly, resulting in the death of one Dughmush clan member and the reported kidnapping of 30 others by Hamas.
Concerns of civil unrest persist as Gaza's population remains frustrated and armed, amidst fears of internal conflict. These developments follow a ceasefire that has left many questioning who will govern Gaza in the war’s aftermath.
