NEW YORK — Justin Timberlake was stopped by police in the Hamptons in June 2024, suspected of driving under the influence. Newly released police footage shows Timberlake struggling with sobriety tests, where he stated, 'these are like really hard tests.' The pop star was pulled over after running a stop sign and veering out of his lane, with officers noting the smell of alcohol.
In his defense, Timberlake claimed he had just one martini before following friends home. During the encounter, he expressed nervousness and confusion, asking, 'Why are you arresting me?' Once in custody, he learned he would be held overnight, expressing disbelief at the situation.
Timberlake's lawyers initially sought to block the release of the video, arguing it would invade his privacy and harm his reputation, but eventually agreed to share it. In September, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, committing to a public safety announcement about the risks of drunk driving as part of his plea deal, which also included a fine and community service. His license was suspended for 90 days.
