Norway’s king went from the royal palace to Oslo Cathedral and the Akershus Fortress – a drama that drew crowds and royal guests alike.

King Harald V of Norway, who reigned for 35 years, passed away in August and was mourned across the country. After private rites at Akershus Fortress, a public service in Oslo Cathedral was held. Tens of thousands gathered along its streets, and the royal family watched from the palace balcony. European royals, including the Prince of Wales, were in attendance.
