Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, shared his feelings of regret regarding flirty emails he exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell, who is infamously tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities.
The messages, which surfaced following the release of documents by the US Department of Justice, included a particular note in which Wasserman asked, So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit? These messages were sent back in 2003.
Wasserman, in his statement, acknowledged the mistake, saying, I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light. He emphasized that he has never had any personal or business relationship with Epstein, although he did travel on one of Epstein's planes during a humanitarian trip.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes. The recent surfacing of these emails has reignited discussions surrounding the ties and associations influential figures had with Epstein and Maxwell.
Wasserman founded a sports and entertainment agency in 2002 and is also a trustee of the Clinton Foundation. He ended his statement by expressing sorrow for any association with either Maxwell or Epstein.
Also in the spotlight, Ghislaine Maxwell has agreed to testify before Congress as part of an investigation into how the federal government managed Epstein-related files. The inquiry has also extended to several high-profile figures, including former President Bill Clinton, who has denied any wrongdoing.
