Award-winning rapper Lil Nas X was arrested early Thursday morning after an unusual encounter with police in Los Angeles. Authorities were alerted around 5:30 AM to a man reportedly walking down Ventura Boulevard in his underwear. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), when officers arrived, the rapper allegedly "charged" at them, leading to his arrest on suspicion of battery. Following the altercation, he was taken to a hospital for potential overdose treatment, as police spokesman Charles Miller confirmed.

Footage obtained by TMZ showed Lil Nas X dancing in the street, sporting only his underwear and cowboy boots, and inviting bystanders to "come to the party." Despite the drama, the star is gearing up for the release of his eagerly awaited second album, "Dreamboy," later this year.

Born Montero Lamar Hill, Lil Nas X made history in 2019 as the first openly gay artist to receive a Country Music Association award. His song "Old Town Road" not only garnered two Grammys but also broke records, staying at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for an incredible 17 weeks.

Throughout his career, the rapper has sparked controversy, particularly with the music video for his single "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," which faced backlash from conservatives who deemed it inappropriate. However, Lil Nas X has a knack for turning criticism into viral moments, once joking with fans about wanting their "tears" to fill his Grammy cup on Twitter. Will this latest brush with the law add yet another chapter to his compelling story?
