OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder reported that he and his family are safe after a break-in at their home. The incident happened during one of the team's games last week. Long story short, everybody's safe, and that’s all that really matters in the whole thing, he stated after a game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Police responded to the situation around 7:45 PM on Thursday. The suspects fled before police arrived, and details about any stolen items remain unclear. Fortunately, authorities have assured the public there is no immediate danger.
The rise in burglaries among athletes has captured attention recently, highlighting a worrying trend of targeting players during games when they are not at home. Stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Luka Doncic have also faced similar incidents.
