In an unexpected turn of events, a New York Times executive was found dead in a car park near San Francisco, California.
The victim, 40‑year‑old engineer Jonathan McKinsey, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds at the Dublin Sports Grounds parking lot.
Police say the shots were fired by his wife’s parents, 77‑year‑old Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, who were stopped at the scene about ten minutes later.
Both suspects face first‑degree murder, conspiracy and other charges, but the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
The men are held in Santa Rita jail and will appear in court on Wednesday, while the NYT confirmed the fatal shooting.
