In the peaceful city of Porto Alegre, Sister Inah was revered for her dedication and indomitable spirit. Her passing on Wednesday was mourned by her religious community, who thanked her for her years of service. While the cause of death was reportedly due to old age, she had embraced life fully, only opting for a cataract surgery at the age of 106.

Sister Inah became the oldest living person in January, as she took the title after the death of Japanese record-holder Tomiko Itooka. Born in a time before major innovations like insulin or television, her life spanned 116 extraordinary years, showcasing the changes in the world around her.

Her memory will continue to inspire many, underscoring the value of long life and service.
