Plane Missing off US Coast: All Six aboard Presumed Dead
A Gulfstream G‑100 medical flight disappeared over the Atlantic on Saturday, en route from Bermuda to Boston. The U.S. Coast Guard ended a week‑long search on Sunday, concluding that the aircraft and its passengers are lost.
The aircraft carried four Canadian crew members, a patient and his family escort from Bermuda. Latitude Air Ambulance confirmed the loss, describing the crew as heroic and the flight as "heart‑breaking."

FAA records show the aircraft dropped sharply in altitude—from 7,300 m (24,000 ft) to 3,300 m (11,000 ft)—before communications failed. Air traffic controllers reported an emergency but the pilot’s distress call was never heard.
Latitude Air Ambulance pledged to cooperate with investigations and support families indefinitely, warning against speculation as investigations proceed.
Emergency crews were ready to meet a plane "with an electrical issue" but later confirmed the aircraft had lost radio and radar.
The tragedy underscores the importance of robust aircraft systems and swift rescue protocols in modern air travel.
