Three‑fold Knife Attack Hits Warsaw School

A 21‑year‑old woman was arrested after she used a knife to injure a 17‑year‑old student and two other women at a school in Warsaw. The three victims all sustained cuts but are not in life‑threatening condition.

This event marks the third knife attack at a Polish school this week. Earlier that same week, a 19‑year‑old student injured nine people at a vocational school in central Poland, and a 37‑year‑old caretaker was killed in a primary school in Leszczydół‑Nowiny.

Polish police say they have detained 76 people after doing a nationwide sweep of schools, and have raised security measures across the country. Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that there is “no room for compromise” when it comes to the safety of children.

Sources suggest the attacks may be part of an online challenge, although the Warsaw police could not confirm a link to the other incidents. In Sierpc, a 17‑year‑old was detained after claiming he planned to “do something dangerous” on school grounds.

The police attack on this week’s timeline raises serious questions about the influence of social media and online communities on youths, as well as the urgent need for robust school security protocols.
