Fire in Kyiv

Overnight Russian missile and drone strikes in Kyiv killed 12 people, six of them rail workers at a Ukrainian state train depot.

Fire erupted in three city districts, while a residential building in Boryspil was also hit. The attacks mark the sixth day of sustained strikes aiming to deplete Ukraine’s air defences.

Russian officials say the strikes target military and energy facilities, but Ukrainian leaders report the use of jet drones and ballistic missiles. The war has drawn pressure from allies such as India’s Modi.

Rescue crews worked through the night, evacuating hundreds and noting damage across eight other regions.
