Jamaican music superstar Sean Paul has stated that the scale of the effort required to assist those impacted by Hurricane Melissa is 'overwhelming.' The Grammy-winning reggae artist shared his family's fear as they experienced the category five storm from their home in Kingston, likening the devastation to a scene from the Middle Ages. With winds reaching 185 mph, the hurricane resulted in at least 28 fatalities.

Sean expressed his heartache hearing about the plight of families, including infants sleeping in cardboard boxes due to lost homes. He is matching donations to Food For The Poor Jamaica, contributing $50,000 to support relief efforts. Fellow Jamaican musician Shaggy has also joined in, coordinating aid deliveries and discussing plans for a future concert to continue supporting the recovery efforts. As communities assess the damage, both artists stress the urgent need for help as countless families struggle in the aftermath.
