A tourist coach traveling from the Netherlands to Switzerland crashed between Susch and Zernez, leaving several passengers dead and numerous others injured. The incident occurred late on Thursday afternoon in the Graubünden (Grisons) mountains.
Local police confirmed the bus overturned, and a large rescue team, including several helicopters, was dispatched to the narrow country road beside the accident. Ambulances and investigators are still working to determine the exact casualty numbers.
About 48 Dutch tourists were aboard, according to the Dutch travel‑company consul, who said it was unclear how many were killed or wounded. The coach had left the Netherlands on Monday and was on a day‑trip via Austria when the crash happened.
The accident occurs near the entrance to the Swiss National Park, an alpine reserve over 100 sq km that attracts hikers and adventurers. Authorities are considering new safety protocols for tourist routes in the region.
