Police in the Swiss canton of Aargau are still on the hunt for an unidentified shooter who fired a burst of gunfire at an event near a horse‑racing track in Schachen, a suburb of Aarau, earlier Sunday night.

The attack left one person dead and five others injured. Victims were taken to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical care.

According to Aargau Cantonal Police, investigators do not yet know why the shooting took place or who the suspect might be. “The manhunt is ongoing and possible motives remain unclear,” the police said.

Local media reported that a rave was taking place in the area until the early morning hours. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The incident has prompted discussions about safety at nightlife venues across the region and how authorities can better monitor high‑risk areas during late‑night events.
