In brief

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff was shot at on Sunday evening in the Juhu suburb of Mumbai but emerged uninjured, while his driver and another passenger sustained minor wounds. Police confirmed the actor was unharmed, and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the attack. Shroff, known for his action-packed roles and football enthusiasm, remains a prominent figure in Bollywood.

Tiger Shroff survives Mumbai shooting

Bollywood star Tiger Shroff was shot at on Sunday evening in the Juhu suburb of Mumbai, but police say he escaped with no injuries. The 36‑year‑old was inside a car that was leaving a football club when two gunmen fired multiple shots at the front passenger seat as the vehicle passed a crowd.

The police report confirmed that the actor was unharmed, though his driver and another passenger sustained minor injuries. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who visited Shroff afterward, condemned the incident, vowing to end such “hooliganism”.

The attack comes amid a worrying trend of targeted violence against celebrities and public figures in India. In 2024, gunmen attacked Salman Khan’s home, and politician Baba Siddique was murdered in Mumbai.

Tiger Shroff, known for his 2014 debut film Heropanti and his energetic stunts, is also a football enthusiast and a regular player for Mumbai FC.
