Tiger Woods Arrested After Car Crash in Florida

Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested on charges of driving under the influence after a crash involving his Land Rover and a truck in Jupiter Island, Florida. The incident occurred on March 27, 2026, when Woods attempted to overtake a pressure cleaning truck and lost control of his vehicle.

According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office, Woods was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Although he passed a breathalyzer test, he refused a urine test, leading authorities to suspect impairment from substances other than alcohol.

Woods, who crawled out of his vehicle's passenger door after the crash, was detained for about eight hours before being released on bail. The sheriff stated that Woods exhibited signs of impairment during field tests conducted at the scene.

This latest incident is a severe blow to Woods, who has been recovering from significant injuries sustained in a 2021 crash and was hoping to participate in upcoming golf tournaments. Since that accident, he has faced various personal challenges, including previous DUI issues in 2009 and 2017.

US President Donald Trump expressed sympathy for Woods, calling him an amazing person and a close friend. The golf community is now left wondering how this setback will affect Woods' plans for his future in the sport.
