A 63‑year‑old British man was killed after a paragliding mishap in Spain’s north‑eastern Catalonia region, authorities said.

Emergency services received a report around 13:30 local time (14:30 BST) in the Palau de Noguera area, near Tremp. Rescuers found him seriously injured and provided first aid until medical teams arrived, but he later died.

The UK Foreign Office said it was “supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain”.

Local media noted the man appeared tangled in power lines before hitting the ground, though officials have not confirmed the exact cause. The Catalan government said three fire brigades and two medical teams attended the scene, and police units worked with investigation teams.

Authorities will inform the family via consular channels.
