Recently, the U.S. reinstated approximately $400 million in military assistance that had previously been paused, signaling a reaffirmation of military cooperation. Philippine Defense Minister Gilberto Teodoro Jr. cited this funding restoration as proof of strong ties, especially as Trump recently decided to suspend aid to Ukraine. Teodoro reassured that he received commitments from Trump's administration regarding their defense treaty, emphasizing, “We have no reason to doubt.”
