A man is under police questioning in Paris following the shocking discovery of four bodies in the River Seine. The first body was noticed by a passerby near a bridge in Choisy-le-Roi, a southeastern suburb of the French capital, on August 13. As police conducted further searches that day, they uncovered three additional bodies nearby.
Authorities report that one victim was found to have been strangled, while another displayed signs of violent injuries, suggesting a grim scenario. Currently, the suspected individual is being held in Paris, though officials have not released any specifics regarding him or the potential number of murders he may be connected to.
The first body identified, a 40-year-old local man, appeared to have been in the water only a short while. In contrast, the three other victims were discovered in a "very advanced state of decomposition." Prosecutors emphasized that thus far, there’s no evidence suggesting a connection between the victims, indicating that they may have been submerged in different locations upstream before being carried downstream to the Choisy bridge.
