A 42-year-old woman from Peru is in hot water after being accused of trying to smuggle over $70,000 worth of cocaine and ecstasy into Bali, Indonesia. Known only by her initials, N.S., she was stopped by customs officials who noticed her suspicious behavior. Police revealed that the drugs were cleverly concealed in six plastic packages wrapped in black duct tape hidden within her green bra, in her black underwear, and shockingly, inside a sex toy inserted into her body.
The Bali police narcotics unit director, who is called Radiant, explained that a total of 1.4 kilograms (about 3.1 pounds) of cocaine and 43 ecstasy pills were discovered during the search. The woman reportedly accepted $19,000 to carry the drugs, a deal made with someone she met on the dark web back in April. She had flown from Barcelona to Bali with a stop in Doha, arriving on August 12.
Since Indonesia is notorious for its harsh penalties against drug trafficking, the woman could potentially face the death penalty if convicted. Although executions for drug offenses have been on hold since 2017, the legal consequences remain severe. In a recent case, three British nationals were spared the death penalty after attempting to smuggle cocaine disguised as a dessert mix into the country.
