Zelensky Fires Back as Russia Launches Massive Attack

The Ukrainian president blasted a night of Russian missile strikes that hit cities across the east as one of the crueltyiest attacks of the war.

A residential tower in Pryluky collapsed, killing 15 people. The blast was described as a “birthday gift” to the Russian leader on his 74th birthday.

The strikes also reached Kyiv, Dnipro, Kremenchuk and several other towns. Ukraine said it fired 70 missiles back, targeting energy centres in Russia.

Officials are still searching the rubble for survivors, and the incident has drawn a fresh call for stronger air‑defence aid from allied countries.

In the meantime, Russia has not issued a statement. The conflict continues to shift the balance of power north‑east.
