Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has said he had a very constructive phone call with Donald Trump's peace envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the U.S. president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Zelensky stated that they discussed how to ensure that Russia adhered to any potential peace agreement to resolve the ongoing conflict. He expressed his determination to continue collaborating with the U.S. administration.

Ukrainian officials also participated in the call from Miami, where they are on the third day of negotiations aimed at facilitating a peace deal with Russia.

As these talks progress, Moscow has continued its military assault on Ukraine, refusing to concede any ground. Zelensky emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation with the U.S. to achieve a peaceful resolution.

In a post on X, Zelensky stated, Ukraine is determined to keep working in good faith with the American side to genuinely achieve peace. He elaborated on the discussions surrounding key points that could potentially end the bloodshed and counter the risk of a full-scale Russian invasion.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in solidarity with Ukraine, condemned the latest missile strikes by Russia and assured continued support from EU allies. Macron highlighted the need for de-escalation and a ceasefire, further engaging with world leaders to ensure Ukraine's security post-conflict.

Despite the challenges faced—Russia recently conducting extensive air attacks—U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators have encouraged Russia to show a significant commitment to long-lasting peace following stalled talks in Moscow.

The ongoing negotiations in Florida focus on U.S.-backed proposals for Ukraine’s security post-war, hoping for serious steps toward peace coming from Russia.
