The Metropolitan Police have charged a second individual, Stanislav Carpiuc, a 26-year-old Romanian national, with conspiracy to commit arson that endangers life. This stems from a series of fires deliberately set at locations tied to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The incidents occurred earlier this month, with the first fire igniting on May 12 outside the former residence of Mr. Starmer in Kentish Town, North London, where he lived until last year. The Prime Minister currently resides at the official residence on Downing Street after his electoral win.

Another fire occurred a day earlier at a residential building in Islington, while the third incident involved a car in Kentish Town on May 8—once owned by Starmer himself. Fortunately, there were no injuries associated with these events, although property damage has been reported.

Investigations into the incidents are being led by counterterrorism police due to their nature and the connection to a prominent public figure like Starmer. Carpiuc's alleged co-conspirator is Roman Lavrynovych, a 21-year-old Ukrainian who was recently in court, too. During the recent court hearing, it was disclosed that the unexplained nature of the offenses being investigated remains under scrutiny.

Carpiuc was apprehended at London Luton Airport by counterterrorism units and is set for a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court. Stay tuned as this situation develops.
