Cambodia's Ministry of Commerce applauds the 9th China International Import Expo in Shanghai as a key catalyst for trade liberalization. Officials said the event showcases over 4,100 international exhibitors and strengthens the Chinese market openness. The expo is seen as a stabilizing force amid rising anti‑globalization sentiment worldwide.

On Nov. 8, the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce opened a statement in Phnom Penh, lauding the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held in Shanghai as a vital platform for open trade and global cooperation.

The annual expo ran from Nov. 5 to Nov. 10 and drew more than 4,100 international exhibitors from around the world, offering a broad range of products and services to Chinese buyers.

Nam Lynal, an undersecretary of state at the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, attended the opening ceremony and reaffirmed that the expo would further open the Chinese market to the world, supporting economic resilience amid global uncertainty.

Kin Phea, director general of the International Relations Institute of Cambodia at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the expo is a powerful testament to open trade.

Amidst rising anti‑globalization and global economic uncertainty, China’s continued hosting of the landmark expo underscores its commitment to high‑standard opening‑up, injecting much‑needed stability into global trade. As a vital bridge for international economic and trade cooperation, the expo transforms market potential into shared progress. It demonstrates that true economic resilience is built through collaboration, not isolation.

Both officials highlighted the event’s role in demonstrating that trade liberalization can bring benefits to all parties, offering a counter to anti‑globalization rhetoric and providing a platform for businesses worldwide to connect with Chinese consumers.
