In a nail-biting rescue operation, Josh Sullivan, a pastor from Tennessee, was freed from captivity in South Africa following a fierce exchange of gunfire between police and his kidnappers. Sullivan was taken by four masked men last Thursday during his sermon at Fellowship Baptist Church in Motherwell, a township located in the Eastern Cape Province.Authorities, acting on detailed intelligence, located the pastor in a secured structure in nearby Gqeberha. When police arrived at the scene, they observed suspicious activity and, upon approach, the suspects opened fire, sparking a "high-intensity" shootout. In the confrontation, three kidnappers were killed. Miraculously, Sullivan was found unharmed, according to Lt. Col. Avele Fumba from the South African Police Service. He has been reported to be in excellent condition and has been reunited with his family after the traumatic experience, providing a sigh of relief to loved ones and supporters back home.
