Prince Harry recently announced his resignation as patron of Sentebale, the charity he co-founded to honor his late mother. This decision comes after a prolonged conflict between the charity's chair, Sophie Chandauka, and several trustees. Harry and fellow co-founder Prince Seeiso expressed their resignation in support of five board members who stepped down due to a loss of trust in Chandauka.
These trustees, Timothy Boucher, Mark Dyer, Audrey Kgosidintsi, Kelello Lerotholi, and Damian West, stated that they requested Chandauka's resignation but were met with a lawsuit from her aimed at preventing their vote. Feeling compelled to leave, the trustees explained that they did not want to burden the charity with legal costs. Their resignation was described as a necessary step to protect Sentebale’s integrity. Both parties have taken their claims to Britain's Charity Commission as they pursue resolution.
