In a shocking incident, Jacky Jhaj, a 39-year-old British man known for his past sexual offenses, has been arrested and charged for allegedly organizing a mock wedding to a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl at Disneyland Paris. Jhaj, who is already on the sex offenders register after being convicted in 2016 of engaging in sexual activity with two 15-year-olds, had reportedly hired around 100 French extras for this questionable event.

The police acted after an actor, hired to play the father of the bride, alerted authorities on Saturday morning. This was not the first time Jhaj's actions have raised alarms. In 2023, he managed to hire hundreds of kids as fans for a fake film premiere in London, where some were instructed to scream for him without knowing his true identity. Videos of these events amassed millions of views on YouTube, despite past warnings from the BBC about Jhaj’s activities.

Recently, Jhaj appeared before a judge in France, facing multiple charges including fraud, breach of trust, and identity theft, and he has been placed in pretrial detention. The prosecutor revealed that he reportedly used a fake Latvian ID to secure the Disneyland venue, deceiving the park in the process.

While the Ukrainian girl involved was not a victim of violence, concerns remain about the overall safety of children in environments where adults can exploit them. The French authorities are collaborating with the UK police regarding Jhaj’s other offenses and ongoing investigations into his suspicious productions, which have cost organizers hundreds of thousands of pounds. The alarming pattern of Jhaj's behavior and the ease with which he involved children in his schemes raise significant issues about child protection in entertainment sectors.
