Families affected by the devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad are facing a heartbreaking ordeal as they gather to provide DNA samples to identify victims. The crash, which involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London, occurred shortly after takeoff and resulted in at least 269 fatalities, including many individuals who were in the path of the descending aircraft.

On Friday, families waited outside the main hospital in Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat, where health workers are working tirelessly to match names to the deceased. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site, promising to support the devastated community.

Among the deceased was Akash Patni, a tea-stall worker, whose family mourned the loss intensely. Only one passenger survived the catastrophe and is currently receiving treatment. As rescue efforts continue, the death toll may unfortunately rise, leaving a city in mourning and filled with questions about the tragic event and its aftermath.
