The transport and communication and manufacturing industries also drew significant capital. China and Singapore were the top foreign investors during the period.

Myanmar said it welcomed more than $433 million in foreign direct investment in the first six months of its 2026‑27 fiscal year, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.

The largest portion of that money went into real‑estate, with $245 million flowing into property projects. The transport and communication sector received $131 million, while manufacturing attracted $29 million.

China and Singapore were the biggest individual investors in the country during the period, according to the government agency.
