Veteran Bollywood actor and director Manoj Kumar has died at the age of 87 in Mumbai, India. He passed away due to "age-related health issues," as confirmed by Dr. Santosh Shetty from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he had been hospitalized. Kumar's son, Kunal Goswami, revealed that the star had faced various health challenges for a long time.
Born Harikrishan Goswami in 1937 in Punjab, Kumar became a household name in the 1960s and 1970s with his patriotic-themed films like Shaheed, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, and Kranti. His work resonated deeply with Indian audiences, making him a leading figure in Hindi cinema. Throughout his career, he received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Padma Shri and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest honor in cinema.
Since the news of his passing, tributes have flooded social media. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated his influence on cinema by declaring him an "icon."
