French prosecutors have opened an investigation into the Australian video platform Kick over the death of content creator Raphaël Graven during a live stream. Graven, also known as Jean Pormanove, was found dead near Nice, having been known for videos featuring violence and humiliation.

The investigation will determine whether Kick knowingly broadcast videos that attacked personal integrity. A spokesperson from Kick expressed the company's commitment to cooperating with authorities during the investigation.

Additionally, the investigation will assess Kick's compliance with the European Union's Digital Services Act, which mandates notifying authorities about threats to life or safety. This follows a statement from France's digital affairs minister, who announced a lawsuit against Kick for their negligence in preventing dangerous content.
