The FBI collected ample proof that Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused underage girls but found scarce evidence supporting claims of a sex trafficking ring associated with influential men, an AP review reveals.
Investigators scoured Epstein's residences and financial records but uncovered no links to any criminal activity involving additional suspects. In a July update last year, agents remarked that while a few accusers pointed to others, there wasn’t enough evidence for federal charges against them.
Newly released documents may yield further insights, as media outlets continue examining millions of pages pertaining to the Epstein case.
Key findings highlight that despite persistent public speculation about a 'client list' implicating powerful figures, no definitive list ever existed, and all inquiries led back to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.
