The son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit is embroiled in serious allegations, as Marius Borg Høiby is suspected of three rapes and a staggering 23 other offences, according to police reports released on Friday. Høiby, who is the stepson of Norway's next king, experienced three arrests in 2024, occurring in August, September, and November. Following a meticulous 10-month inquiry, the Oslo police have submitted their findings to prosecutors to determine if charges will be filed.

His attorney, Petar Sekulic, stated that while Høiby is taking these accusations seriously, he denies most claims, particularly regarding sexual abuse and violence. At 28 years old and without any royal title or official responsibilities, Høiby has been under scrutiny since his initial arrest on August 4, 2024, under suspicion of assault.

In their thorough investigation, police conducted numerous interviews, searches, and examined extensive digital evidence. They reported that Høiby cooperated during questioning in the autumn of 2024 and spring of 2025. Among the allegations against him are four counts of sexual misconduct, one count of abuse in a close relationship, and two counts of bodily harm.

Some sexual offense cases were dropped due to the statute of limitations and lack of evidence. "I cannot provide detailed information about the number of victims, but it is in double digits," said police attorney Andreas Kruszewski. The Royal House of Norway has indicated that they will not comment further as the case progresses through the legal system.
