RIO RICO, Ariz. (AP) — A person was detained for questioning Tuesday in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, hours after the FBI released surveillance videos of a masked person wearing a handgun holster outside Guthrie’s front door the night she vanished from her Arizona home. Deputies detained the person during a traffic stop south of Tucson, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. A local delivery man, initially detained on suspicion of kidnapping, claimed innocence and was released hours later. The FBI continues its investigation, searching a site in Rio Rico linked to the case. Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC's Savannah Guthrie, disappeared on February 1, and her family is desperately seeking leads. Surveillance footage shows an individual approaching her home, but it remains unclear what happened next. Authorities confirm DNA tests indicate blood found at her residence belonged to Nancy. The Guthrie family, including Savannah, has made emotional public appeals for information, indicating their willingness to negotiate for her return, given her medical conditions.
