An escaped tiger believed to be owned by Germany's 'Tiger Queen' has been shot dead by police after attacking one of its keepers. Police reported that a 72-year-old man was seriously injured while inside the animal's enclosure on a privately-owned facility in Leipzig. The tiger managed to escape, but was quickly located and killed by armed police to prevent further risk to the public.

The enclosure is tied to Carmen Zander, who is described as a controversial trainer and known as the 'Tiger Queen'. She has organized tiger petting events open to the public, highlighting her business with these powerful animals. Following the incident, District Mayor Thomas Druskat suggested that the remaining animals at the site should be relocated to ensure safety.

Residents expressed concerns about the animal's conditions, and animal rights groups like Peta have called for stricter regulations on private animal ownership in light of the attack. An investigation is underway to determine how the tiger escaped, while police have assured the public no other animals are on the loose. The local community remains shaken, reflecting on the potential severity of the situation had there been more victims.
