An Airbus A320 passenger plane was diverted to Evreux Air Base in northern France on Thursday, Nov. 5, after a bomb alert was reported on board. The flight was scheduled to travel from Dublin, Ireland to Rome, Italy.
French media reported the diversion and the aircraft was seen turning back while flying over southern Paris, according to flight‑tracking data. The plane circled several times before heading north and then south toward the air base in Normandy, as noted by Anadolu Agency.
The incident was confirmed by French television channel TF1, which said it was monitoring the situation in real time. The French prime minister’s office echoed this statement, also noting that the authorities were keeping a close watch.
Sources from both Xinhua and Anadolu Agency described the flight’s rerouting in the same way, with no conflicting details. Both outlets confirmed that the aircraft was an Airbus A320 and that the diversion was a response to a bomb threat reported on board.
French authorities’ continuous monitoring reflects the seriousness of the threat, but no injuries or incidents were reported to date. The flight is expected to land safely at Evreux Air Base, where security teams are on standby.
