In brief
Al‑Ahsa Technical College partnered with UNESCO’s Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education to host a World Quality Week 2026 event. Speakers emphasized adaptive leadership, governance frameworks, and digital transformation as key to sustaining high quality in training institutions. The event underscored quality as an ethical commitment that must be embedded in every practice.
The college and UNESCO’s Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) held an event on Nov. 5 at Al‑Ahsa Technical College to mark World Quality Week 2026. The ceremony focused on leadership, governance and digital transformation in training institutions.
The event theme was “Quality: Powering Performance.” Officials from the college, the regional education authority and UNESCO’s RCQE Director General Dr. Abdulrahman Al‑Mudaires attended.
During the launch Dr. Al‑Mudaires spoke about the need for quality excellence, future‑ready leadership and how digital tools can support governance. He explained that governance gives clear procedures and oversight, while digital transformation supplies the data and tools to implement those processes effectively. He urged training institutions to treat quality as an ongoing, ethical practice that drives sustainable success.
Mishary Al‑Qahtani, Director General of Technical and Vocational Training in the Eastern Region, welcomed the observance. He said the World Quality Week theme highlights the importance of continuous development and innovation in work standards. He added that quality should become a core value embedded across all institutional activities.
The event gave institutions an opportunity to review standards and strengthen a culture of proficiency. Speakers agreed that leadership, governance and digital tools together create a framework for achieving high‑quality training in a changing world.
