In brief

Bulla, which has built distribution links with Dingdong Fresh and BigPizza over the past few years, and Biome Australia, which will debut, are both eyeing lasting partnerships at the November 5‑10 China International Import Expo. The companies will use the event to study consumer preferences, showcase new products and secure new deals.

Australian dairy maker Bulla and probiotic company Biome Australia will head back to Shanghai for the ninth China International Import Expo, running Nov. 5‑10, to build lasting business ties.

Since 2019, Bulla has returned each year, gathering new contacts and expanding its China footprint. 2024 and 2025 were "memorable" for the brand, said Sam Zhang, Bulla’s international business manager.

“It’s progressing very well,” Sam Zhang told Xinhua.

He added that Bulla’s exposure at the expo helped secure agreements with Chinese buyers, including a direct‑sourcing deal with Dingdong Fresh last year.

Biome Australia is set for its debut at the event, hoping the showcase will open up the market for its gut‑friendly products.

Bulla’s exports to China topped 10 million Australian dollars (about 7 million U.S. dollars) in the 2025‑year ended June 30 2026, Zhang reported.

Chinese shoppers’ rising health awareness has pushed the company to tweak its packaging and product data, making the items clearer for local consumers.

Over the weeks of the expo, Bulla plans to display ice‑cream items aimed at food‑service operators and a new line of cones. Visitors will taste samples and ask questions.

“We’re ready for it,” Zhang said.

Both firms see the expo as a chance to learn what Chinese buyers want, test new concepts, and lock in distribution agreements that could last for years.
